What is National Farmer’s Day and when is it
October 12th is National Farmer’s Day – a day set aside each year to honor the hard-working men and women who’ve dedicated their lives to feeding and supplying a nation.
Their contributions range from providing a safe, sustainable and secure food supply to providing jobs and stimulating rural economies. At Nationwide, we share that heritage of service and dedication.
The evolution of farming and insurance
Nationwide started as a small mutual auto insurance provider almost a century ago. We’ve watched farms evolve from horses and moldboard plows to drones and autonomous machinery. And every time agriculture leaps forward, we do the same.
As we reflect on farmers’ essential roles this National Farmer’s Day, Nationwide is looking ahead to ensure we meet the insurance needs of tomorrow’s farmer.
Supporting farmers is our top priority
Whether adding a single precision ag tool, updating cybersecurity, or adopting a whole new business management platform, today’s progressive farmers are evolving at the most rapid pace in history. And Nationwide is focused on enabling customers to advance their operations in confidence knowing they’re protected.
“Evolving a modern, progressive farm today is no easy task. And it’s our responsibility to evolve our products and service as farming evolves,” said Brad Snyder, Ag Marketing Director, Nationwide. “We have to do that to ensure farmers, ranchers and agribusinesses can move forward and evolve their businesses with confidence.”
Every day is National Farmer’s Day
Looking ahead, such a forward-looking approach will rise in importance as farmers continue to adopt things like new technology at an even quicker pace to advance their operations. As farmers make changes to become even better stewards of the land and increase output to meet growing needs for food, feed, fiber and fuel, Nationwide will continue to adapt, so no customer need goes unmet.
“It’s a challenge to keep up with the pace of innovation of today’s progressive farmers. But we’re up to that challenge. We strive to keep up with changes in technology and ways farmers can work smarter and more efficiently,” Snyder said. “National Farmer’s Day is not just one day out of the year for us. Every day we spend working to protect our customers’ future is National Farmer’s Day at Nationwide.”
